Candidate Bio
I am running for Village Trustee because:
In my first term, I have been honored to serve the Village and to keep our Village working for the residents. The thanks I receive nearly every day are reason enough to seek a second term, but I also feel there is more to be done. I would like to continue the infrastructure improvement we have begun to storm and sanitary sewer systems, to our electrical grid and to our water service. New developments in town have exposed a need to modernize our building code and review our zoning ordinances, while working to develop a more detailed comprehensive plan for storm water management. I would like to work to ensure our professional and highly motivated staff is used effectively, and we make better use of digital communication and social media opportunities to keep residents informed.
Community Service:
Prior to my first term as Trustee my experience with the Village includes 10 years as chairman of the Design Review Commission and 10 years on the Plan Commission. I have held volunteer & leadership positions with the Y.M.C.A. Guides & Princesses and with A.Y.S.O. Youth Soccer.
Professional Experience:
I am founder, managing partner and design principal of Chicago Design Network an architectural practice specializing in high technology and image critical work environments. The firm was established in 1985, is located in downtown Chicago and works throughout North America. Other entrepreneurial ventures include indoor soccer, ice skating and family entertainment facilities in South Carolina, and various real estate partnerships in Illinois and California. My business experience informs a well-grounded, real-world understanding of budgeting and finance that is critical to the successful operation of the Village.
La Grange Resident:
I have lived in La Grange for 33 years with my wife Dorothy and our 3 children.
